All paintings in this series are painted using the same Manzanita branches for reference. I got to paint all outside, using Manzanita branches as a sort of plein air / still life. There are so many unique compositions in these branches that any change of viewpoint brought a new and interesting challenge.
"Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving."
Abstract art allows me to express ideas and feelings where words become inadequate.
